I love your work, (although it is a real pain to get a hard copy here in America)and would love to get my hands on the next memory of flames and the first thief book along with this one. My favourite time period for a novel setting would probably be the era of the ancients: Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, and Feudal Japan.

I think Early Medieval Germany is interesting, the 10th century to be slightly more specific. Frederick Barbarossa’s adventures in Italy, Ireland in the age of Brian Boru, The Spanish Civil War, Alexios Komnenos/Anna Komnene, the sack of Constantinople from a Greek perspective, there’s a bunch of things that don’t pop up in English language literature a lot.
