The trials of Celebrity II (23/1/2009)

Also on the subject of trials I have a sore wrist from signing 400 book plates. Apparently I only needed to sign half that number, so presumably my editor thinks that my writing hand needs to lose weight. Or maybe with sufficient exercise it might be able to type quicker. Or for longer. Or something.

Signing your name 400 times is a really, really dull thing to do. I have a new-found sympathy and respect for people who have to do this sort of thing on a regular basis.

Oh, and I did it on a plane. If you’re the one who’s plate says ‘wheeee…’ underneath, that was when we took off. I was a bit fed up by then, so sorry about that.

Just a note to say I enjoyed the excerpt. It was enough to get me excited about TAP. Can’t wait for it to be released!

Are those 400 sig sheets for the Goldsboro Books editions? Or something else?

    I don’t know – I just do what I’m told!
I am looking forward to those Goldboro editions. I think I want about ten copies.

Me too (except I’ll just be getting one).

Shame that I’ll be waiting the extra time for them. Hope they get made quickly.

It is this sort of excitement that makes me wish I wrote a blog. To get one of those advance copies.

So do I. I shall have to prod them soon to find out what their schedule is.

The ARCs have some significant and annoying (formatting) errors in them. Also, the ARCs were produced prior to the copy edit, and whoever my copy-editor was, they did a cracking job. Maybe the ARCs will be worth something one day, but frankly, for reading and enjoying, the published version will be worth the wait.
